CareDocs is finally here !!!!!

We put our residents at the heart of the software becuase we understand that the more detail we provide, the better the service will be. CareDocs naturally encourages engagement and through care recording by asking the staff to enter detailed text entries instead of simply ticking boxes or selecting icons. Additionally, our comprehensive CARE ASSESSMENTS are expertly crafted by people with many years of real residentail expiereince. 

The software was orininally created to remove time-consuming tasks from the care process and has evolved over time to adapt to the chnaging needs of residential care homes. Switching to a digital system also doesn't mean making traditional practices more difficult- you can easily share your care records with external health professionals or regulators by printing or exporting files to PDF for email attachements.

This holiday season is unlike any other, to cap off a year unlike any other. Throughout this season, and as we move into a new (and hopefully better) year, we wish you moments of peace amid the difficulties, connections with family and friends even if they can’t be in person, the warmth of memories from holidays past, and wonderful glimpses of the joy that still lives under the surface. From Everyone at Fern Hill House Care Home!

We are celebrating Nutrition week and inviting community to support through the week. 11^th-17^th March.

Residents celebrated valentines day and visited our sister home in Nelson for lunch and activities on the day, which they thoroughly enjoyed.

Activity coordinator works 5 days a week.

The local nusery school has been visiting Fern Hill House Care home, on a regular basis for a jolly good sing a long with the residents of the home. It was so nice to see all the children and the elderley residents singing a long together.

The smiles on the residents faces was priceless.!!

We have been visited recently by the local Bacup Pride, who have been attending to the gardens, planting flowers and bulbs for the summer, it was fascinating to see the local Beavers, cubs and scouts all having a wonderful few days!

From home to home, and heart to heart, from one place to another.
The warmth and joy of Christmas, brings us closer to each other. 

We would like to wish everyone associated with Fern Hill House Care Home a very merry Chrritsmas and a happy new year 2017 !!

We are always looking to improve the service at Fern Hill House Care Home. During our residents survey/questionaire , a request was made to explore the possibility of a secure external garden area for soaking in the sun in the warm summers that we are currently experiencing.

After carefully planning the adhering to the action plan, a new external garden area was erected in August 2016, the residents have enjoyed a great summer at Fern Hill house and now are looking forward to next summer.

We took over Burwood care home on April 7th 2015 and are very proud of the home, we immediately identified improvemnts and these are on going.  

Firstly, a new sign !!

A new website, feel free to visit.

We have recently seperated the dining room from the reception, now the residents can sit and have their breakfast, lunch and tea without being disturbed by visitors coming into the home and walking directly into the residents dining area.

Next stop - Wet room !!

Hope that this Easter brings you new aspirations and new hope.

Burwood New external garden area !

We are currently in the process of developing a new external secure garden area at Burwood so that the residents can sit in the warmth of the lovely sunshine.

"What good is the warmth of the summer, without the cold of winter to give it its sweetness"

 As of the 1st July 2016, Burwood Care Home has changed its location name to

Fern Hill House Care Home.
