9.Why should your home look after someone else’s loved one?

At times we all need extra support, a person moving into a care home it is a hard and life changing decision to make for yourself or your loved ones , it is important for the person to be cared for in a person-centred approach, this also includes people involved in their life and life history. Working closely with the person and their representative we can develop a plan to support their care needs in a holistic approach.

10. Would you place your loved one in your home?

Choosing a care home is a very difficult decision to make, I would want my loved ones to be cared for by people who ensure that my loved one keeps their identity and that the staff are caring as well as supportive promoting independence, I would want my loved one to be safe and know that when I am not there they will be well cared for, I would want to feel that I am visiting their home and to be made to feel welcome.
